Time sure flies by fast! I taught my first English class in my new
area this week. I’m teaching 18 and younger. There is a set of twins
who are about 8 years old, they are way cute. At the end of class we asked
them what ethnicity I was. The boy (one of the twins) started naming
off a lot of different ethnicities. His mom said ” She is probably
America” and he replied ” No! She doesn’t have blue eyes.” He finally decided
I was an alien.
Other people in the ward have decided I look like Ariel. It is funny
to here them guess.
This week was awesome! We had president interviews, it sounds like I
will be in this area for a long time. He just kept saying learn the
area Hokanson Shimai. I have a feeling I’ll have a new companion next
transfer, so there is much to learn. My Japanese is slowly getting a
little better. I can read some kanji now! Way exciting!
The weather is slowly getting hotter, as the heat rises my watch tan
line gets more noticeable. Matsumoto Shimai is the best at inviting
people. I want to be like her when I’m transfer 10. I’ve learned so
much and we are having the best time as companions! We had a crazy
awesome miracle, last week we got a referral from church headquarters!
That never happens! We got so excited, but had no idea where the
person lived. A member spent half an hour on the computer helping us
find it. Then a couple days ago we went. We spent four hours walking
to find this apartment! We met the best people on the way. There was a
grandpa that kind of reminds me of grandpa chick. He told me he went
to visit his friend in Virgina and that they drove like an hour to
pick him up, and he was shocked that they drove so far. And after that
experience, he now drives all over Japan just for the fun of it. He drove
from Tokyo to Hiroshima. ( 821 km /510 miles) All of his friends think he is crazy for
driving so far, but he says it is so easy to hop in the car for like 8
hours. Anyways he is supper nice, we are going to try and refer him to
We met another lady the other day who was telling us a little bit
about her religion; I always get excited when I hear them speak about
their beliefs. They have parts of the gospel, but not the fullness. I
just want them to know that they can be freed from sin, and have
eternal life, and eternal families.
The gospel is true everybody! My companions’ dad has a Mormon.org
video, you should all watch it. Love you all!
My awesome companion, Matsumoto Shimai !
