Wow this week was busy! We can hardly keep up with all the people we are finding. We are going to work harder at contacting people in all the spare time that we have. Last week we were supposed to have a typhoon, but it was more like heavy rain. 全部の新しい宣教師が本当に心配しました。一瞬面白かった。 We ended up talking to a ton of people that day, and we saw so many miracles! There was a lady that gave us directions and during that time she told us she used to attend Sunday School. We invited her to attend our Sunday School class on Sunday. She didn’t come this week, but I have a perfect hope that she will come next week.
I might have used this scripture before, but it is okay, I`ll use it again.
This is in 2 Nephi 31:19-20 Nephi is teaching the doctrine of Christ. He has just talked about what we have to do to enter through the gate to the kingdom of God. Now he is teaching us how to stay on the path and inherit eternal life with our father in heaven and his son Jesus Christ.
19. And now, my beloved bretheren, after ye have gotten into this strait and narrow path, I would ask if all is done? Behold, I say unto you, Nay; for ye have not come thus far save it were by the word of Christ with unshaken faith in him, relying wholly upon the merits of him who is mighty to save.
I like to think of it as a castle. When anyone imagines a castle there is a magnificent edifice usually white or yellow in color. With steeples and a flag of victory flying high. Inside the castle I always imagine a King and Queen and Princesses, and Princes living inside. To get there, a path has been put in place to lead friends to the castle. At the entrance of the path there is a gate that blocks the way. The gate keeps strangers out.
I like the parable of the ten virgins when the 5 virgins with the extra oil were able to get into the marriage ceremony. The other 5 couldn`t they weren`t ready and the bride groom said, I know you not. He wouldn`t let them in because they weren`t prepared and He didn`t know them. God really does know all of us, He knows us one by one, He is perfect. Only perfect people can enter into his presence. The only perfect person who has ever walked the earth is our Savior Jesus Christ. Through his perfect Atonement, we can be made perfect in Christ and one day be perfect. We have to work at it. To enter the gate of the kingdom of God, we must be Baptized by someone holding the proper authority. Once you pass through the gate, you still have to walk the path. The path leads to the Kingdom of God. We can truly live with our Heavenly Father,, with Jesus Christ, and with our Families forever.
How shall we walk the path after baptism?
20. Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope and a love of God, and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life.
We need to remember that Christ is our Savior, and have faith in his Atonement, and always strive to be better people. We need a perfect brightness of hope, The gospel gives us hope! In the New Testament, a person asked Christ what is the greatest Commandment, he responded Love God. The next was to love your neighbor. Be a loving person. Help people that need it. It is so much fun seeing miracles on my mission, but the even better thing is when I am being somebody else’s miracle. Make a goal to be somebody Else’s miracle today! As we work hard on turning outward and stop being so focused on ourselves I know that we will have more happiness in this life and we will be more Christ
