Kofu!

Dear Everyone who reads this letter,
Today is a beautiful day in Kofu! Look at the view from my apartment! image1.JPG

Isn’t it beautiful! I just love looking at the church first thing in the morning! Looking at Mount Fuji is nice too, but can hardly compare to the church building! Kofu Ward has 100 strong members that come every week! We are hoping to increase that! We have a vision how we want to get investigators to church. I’m still not sure what the Ward’s mission plan is yet. We met with the bishop for dinner yesterday, but he said we will talk about it when all 8 of the missionaries are together. From here on out the mission numbers will start to die out to 147ish, so I hope the members will use all of us missionaries who are here and ready to work!

Here is the bishop and his family!

After my 2 1/2 train ride to Kofu, Yamanashi, we just got to work and have seen the miracles role in! This area is about to explode.
One miracle for the week is, we were praying about our friend. Osama and we think she can get baptized on the 19 of April! We are praying that her family (who are members will help her progress and have a Christ like life)!
On Sunday we taught a recent convert Sister Suzuki , she is the Ward Mission Leaders mother! She is 80 years old and we were praying how to help her. We were thinking about setting the goal for her to go to the temple and do proxy baptisms but we were worried that because of her age and the distance to the temple it wouldn’t work out. Wrong! During the lesson, I was promoted to ask about her baptism. She was so cute and said, ” I’m embarrassed to say, but it was so much fun I want to do it again!” Hello, answer to prayers! I know that God strengthens us and gives us advice how to help his children! He is all knowing and we just have to put for the obedience, faith, and diligence. We can get answers to our prayers in many ways, but the best way is from the teachings of prophets! I’m so excited for General Conference! Have you all been partaking in heavenly revelation from the Octobers Conference?
Heer is a quick excerpt from 1 Nephi 16. This is when Lehi’s family follows the Liahona. In Japanese the scripture says  羅針盤 at one point. It means compas in English. The liahona that Lehi’s family had continually pointed them to the Promised Land as long as they … Read the scripture below.
28 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, beheld the pointers which were in the ball, that they did work according to the faith and diligence and heed which we did give unto them.
29 And there was also written upon them a new writing, which was plain to be read, which did give us understanding concerning the ways of the Lord; and it was written and changed from time to time, according to the faith and diligence which we gave unto it. And thus we see that by small means the Lord can bring about great things.
1 Nephi 16:28-29

As you read they needed faith, diligence, and obedience ( heeding to ). In our lives if we want to get to the promise land, or return to our Heavenly Father with our families, we need to heed to modern day compasses. The scriptures, modern day prophets whose words can be found in the May and November Issues of the Ensign.
Have a great week! Please feast upon the words of Christ which will teach you eternal truths! Share your thoughts next week!
