Also while crossing the street back to the train station, I ran into Moeka, the recent convert in Kichijoji, her dad bought her this necklace! It brings me so much joy to see how much her dad has changed! I know that good examples bring great blessings to friends and family. You never know how you will touch someone’s life! Oh I can’t remember if I told you this miracle yet, but I’ll say it anyways. About a month ago, her dad went to Tokyo and on the way back from his meeting, he decided to go check out the temple! Then he posted a picture about it on Facebook!
Today we are have a two hour bus ride to the temple! In my entire life this is the farthest I’ve ever lived from the temple! I am such a lucky person! Some people in other countries live days away! Always appreciate the House of God! This morning at 5:30 am we saw a sister in the Ward board our bus to go to the temple, she didn’t see us, but it really warms my heart seeing her faithful example of attending the temple.
This week an apostle of the Jesus Christ came to Japan and blessed the area, and then all of the missionaries in Tokyo and Tokyo South Missions gathered together in Kichijoji to hear inspired talks. What a great way to start the week!
Elder Ringwood spoke about , listen, here, and harken to the words living day prophets. The scriptures are so important, but when it comes down to it, we need modern day revelation from God. The way to hear that is through prophets.
Elder Nelson spoke about how much he and all of the 1st presidency and quorum of the 12 love us. They truly care and pray for all of us. He focused on being in he world and not of the world. Jesus Christ never wished for his people to be taken from the world, but that we be protected from the evils of the world. The commandments given to us from God our to be a protection.
After the conference I ran into these two friends from college!
Sorry I didn’t mean to make this email an epistle, but we just had a lot of great things this week! Our investigator had a great defining moment with prayer. We prayed together and it was her first time in her life to say a prayer out loud. Then we committed her to pray again that night about anything she wanted to say. The next day we met and she said it was such a great experience. God feels closer than He did before and she was so happy! She committed herself to praying everyday!
Also yesterday at the eki we met the coolest girl, and I know it is all thanks to God’s help that we found her. We were passing out Free English Class fliers, when we started talking. We asked her if she has ever prayed before. She said yes! ( Most Japanese people don’t pray, don’t recognize their praying, or don’t care). So then we asked if she thinks God hears her prayers. She said of course! So then we asked what her image of God is. Her answer was, He created, Heaven and Earth, he created us, He is our father in Heaven. Then we asked what the purpose of life is. She said, to become a better person.
She was with a friend and we invited them both to come to church. Her friend said to her, you sound like you’re Christian, you need to go to church! It was a way cool experience, we exchanged phone numbers, and sent her a message last night and she thanked us for the opportunity to talk about God!
I know that God is our Heavenly Father. He loves us. We show our love for Him by striving to become more like him. The purpose of this life is to grow and help others along the way. We teach each other the teachings of Jesus Christ, because it is only through him that we can return to Our Father in Heaven.
32 For behold, this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God; yea, behold the day of this life is the day for men to perform their labors.
I know this church is true. After a time where there was no priesthood power and authority ( power of God), it was restored to this Earth, through the prophet Joseph Smith. Joseph Smith was called by God and restored the church. The need to latter day prophets is essential to receiving guidance from heaven. イエス キリストの御名によりアーメン。
